Preview By Shahid: One of the biggest games in franchise league cricket will serve fans all over the world on a Super Sunday. The two most successful teams in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians, will collide at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 23.
Both teams had a season to forget last year, failing to reach the playoffs. Mumbai Indians finished at the bottom of the points table, while CSK missed out on a playoff spot after losing their final league match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Hardik Pandya received a hostile welcome in 2024 when he replaced Rohit Sharma as Mumbai Indians' skipper. Things fell apart for the five-time champions as they lost 10 out of 14 matches. Pandya will captain again this season, but this time, he should have the backing of fans, considering his heroics in the T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy for Team India, helping the Men in Blue win two ICC titles in less than a year.
